Information Security Analyst

Location: London- hybrid 50%

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time - 35 hours

Purpose

The Information Security Analyst is a dynamic, hands‑on technical role where you’ll work side‑by‑side with our SOC, senior analysts, and cloud security specialists to tackle real threats. You’ll play a key part in elevating our detection, response, and overall security resilience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Threat Monitoring & Alert Handling

  • Incident Response support

  • Vulnerability & patch management support

  • Security Operations assistance

  • Awareness & Documentation of Security Process and Policies

  • Email Security administration

Examples of key activities

  • Monitor security tools (SIEM, EDR, email security, firewalls, cloud platforms) and perform initial alert triage.

  • Investigate and resolve low–medium‑risk alerts; escalate high‑risk issues when needed.

  • Support incident response by collecting evidence, analysing logs, and following established playbooks.

  • Assist with vulnerability management, including reviewing scan results, tracking remediation, and validating fixes.

  • Help maintain and tune core security tools, performing routine checks such as backups, endpoint health, and access reviews.

  • Contribute to threat intelligence tasks including enrichment, tagging, and documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive activities to improve operational efficiency.

  • Create and maintain security documentation: SOPs, runbooks, FAQs, dashboards, and workflows.

  • Support cyber awareness activities such as phishing simulations and user reporting trends.

  • Monitor and manage email security alerts, including phishing attempts, malicious content, and policy optimisation.

What we're looking for

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, SC‑900/SC‑200, cloud/security vendor certs) are essential for the role

  • Strong understanding of core cyber security principles, common attack techniques, networking basics, and security best practices.

  • Hands‑on experience with key security tools such as SIEM (e.g., Sentinel), EDR/Defender, vulnerability scanners, cloud security tools, and secure email gateways.

  • Practical experience in incident response, log analysis, evidence gathering, and following structured playbooks.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365, and Windows 11.

  • Familiarity with identity & access management, conditional access, MFA, and role‑based access control.

  • Experience supporting vulnerability management, patching, remediation tracking, and reporting.

  • Ability to create clear, accurate documentation and use tools such as ServiceNow or ADO Boards for tracking work and incidents.

  • Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and a proactive, curious approach to problem‑solving.

  • Confident communicator who collaborates well, asks questions, and contributes ideas for improving processes and automation.
