Purpose

The Operational Resilience Manager is a pivotal role within Just Group, responsible for ensuring the company’s ability to withstand and swiftly recover from operational disruptions. You will lead the Operational Resilience Business-As-Usual (BAU) programme, collaborating across multiple business areas, IT, and risk functions.

The role will encompass key responsibilities in driving resilience strategies, including:

  • Risk Assessment and Management

  • Business Continuity Planning

  • Crisis Management

  • Training and Awareness

  • Monitoring and Reporting

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Operational Resilience programme across business, IT, and risk functions.

  • Collaborate to identify potential threats to operations (e.g., natural disasters, cyber-attacks) and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain and enhance the Operational Resilience Framework, ensuring consistent application and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and other relevant metrics.

  • Prepare materials and manage scheduling for quarterly Group Operational Resilience Steering Committee meetings.

  • Govern and report on Important Business Services (IBSs), including the annual Self-Assessment for the Board.

  • Ensure timely and quality reviews of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).

  • Support third-party contract reviews and supplier management.

  • Conduct scenario testing for IBSs, ensuring they operate within impact tolerances through the annual test plan.

  • Liaise on operational resilience matters, offering support and best practice advice.

  • Assist in identifying and managing operational resilience risks, developing solutions for vulnerabilities.

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all operational resilience matters, staying current with regulatory changes.

  • Support operational resilience audits, business continuity audits, and regulatory updates.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience in Operational Resilience management or similar functions, in Financial Services or other regulated environment with a proven ability to establish and implement robust controls is essential

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills

  • Strong ability to lead, delegate, and coordinate actions with senior stakeholders in meetings and during workshops.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present concepts in a clear and concise manner

  • Highly organised with strong administrative / support / analysis knowledge and skills

  • Strong knowledge and application of leadership practices and theory e.g. Situational leadership

  • Significant experience of process analysis and refinement

  • Tech-savvy with a strong understanding of relevant tools and technologies.
